Hawk Eye
Portrait of a red-tailed hawk in oil. This bird posed for me at a Native American pow wow. Revisiting this subject that I originally painted in watercolor (seen here), the oil version has much of the same approach and coloring. The main difference in the process is that the underdrawing step is skipped.
This painting will be appearing in the Audubon Society 13th Annual Juried Exhibition “Drawn From Nature” from April 12 – April 27 at The John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove, PA. More info here.
