Night Owl
Great Horned Owl at night in the opening illustration for the children’s book “Silent Swoop: An Owl, An Egg, and a Warm Shirt Pocket” by Michelle Houts and illustrated by deb hoeffner. The book tells the true story of a very special owl named Coal and the extraordinary man who rescued him.
Original art won an award in the 2020 Phillustration 12 online Art Exhibition at the Philadelphia Sketch Club.
The original art is in the collection of the Mazza Museum, the world’s largest collection of original artwork by children’s book illustrators.
