Homeless Christ
A homeless Jesus is the artist’s concept of a contemporary Christ as a homeless man with cardboard sign. This very special image has reached from Key West to Australia, magazine covers, book covers, to homeless shelters and churches. This humble, homeless Jesus is a personal painting I originally created after painting images of Christ for a number of commissioned projects. One story I illustrated titled “The Day JC Came Back” featured a character who was Christ like and rather scruffy looking but had a special gift that he shared with needy people. From that my Homeless Christ idea developed. It has been a joy to find that this image touched many in the manner I intended.
